Myriam Westcott
Audiologist | Hyperacusis, tinnitus, acoustic shock, tensor tympani syndrome (TTS), misophonia specialist
I am an audiologist with 30 years of clinical experience in tinnitus, hyperacusis, acoustic shock, tensor tympani syndrome (TTS) and misophonia understanding, evaluation and therapy.
My aim is to promote a clinically authentic perspective of these conditions based on my analysis of lived experience, research, insights and successful outcomes.
Each of my patients has contributed to my understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Their experiences and their suffering continue to drive me to develop and research innovative, personalised and effective treatment of their symptoms.
This website has been designed to provide information to those affected, to their clinicians and to stimulate further research.
I started working intensively with tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia patients in 1995, and with acoustic shock and TTS patients in 2002. Patients have attended my online clinic from around the world. I have now retired from clinical practice at DWM Audiology.
I continue to provide conference presentations, lectures, training, webinars, articles and interviews.
My research into hyperacusis, acoustic shock and TTS is ongoing.
